# Heart iQ

> Heart iQ (heartiq.org) offers retreats, trainings, and programs in emotional intelligence, relational healing, and circle work, founded by Christian Pankhurst and based at the New Eden retreat centre in Hemrik, the Netherlands, with US editions in Colorado.

Heart iQ is a relational practice and methodology, explicitly "not a method, not therapy, not self-improvement", for people who want to feel more, connect more honestly, and live from the heart. At its centre is a living map of four directions of capacity, four ways your system opens or closes in every moment: Up (Source), Down (Body), In (Receive), Out (Express). When a direction shuts down we compensate, numb, perform or withdraw; the work trains you to stay open in all four and remain present across the full range of being human.

Founder: Christian Pankhurst (Hayes-Pankhurst), creator of Heart iQ Circle Work. He established New Eden (also known as the Heart iQ Sanctuary) in the Netherlands in 2015, has developed the work over two decades, leads retreats internationally, and is endorsed by Neale Donald Walsch. His style is direct, warm and deeply relational, "showing up rather than showing off."

Ways in (NOT a fixed ladder, and NOTHING is a prerequisite for anything): the free Heart iQ Experience is a 3-part replay series you watch from home (a flavour, not a prerequisite, at https://heartiq.org/free-experience); the Love, Relationships & You retreat is the recommended first LIVE taste; Heart iQ Mastery is the signature programme; and from there most people attend one of the in-person immersions at New Eden, with the facilitator-training Academy alongside for those called to hold this work for others. Home is New Eden: 50+ acres of forest and fields about 90 minutes from Amsterdam, purpose-built for immersive group work, "not a hotel or a conference venue." Operated by Heart iQ Network LLC (US); the Netherlands venue is run by New Eden B.V.

HEART iQ EXPERIENCE (free replays, watch from home)
The free taster. The Heart iQ Experience is a free 3-part replay series, three roughly 90-minute sessions with Christian (a personal practice, a relational practice, and a group/circle practice), that you watch at your own pace from home. You enter your details and get an instant access link by email. It is completely standalone, NOT a live or calendar event, and NOT a prerequisite for Heart iQ Mastery or anything else. This is what to offer someone who just wants to sample Heart iQ remotely first.

HEART iQ MASTERY (the signature programme)
The promise (its actual tagline): "Expand your capacity to stay open, in love, in conflict, in life." It is a 90-day training in CAPACITY, the felt ability to stay open in the moments that have always closed you down, so you can finally receive the love and connection already here for you. It is NOT therapy, NOT another round of self-improvement, and NOT a video course you binge.
How it actually works (do NOT describe it as "a daily exercise", "a weekly call with Christian", or "virtual retreat weekends", those are wrong): each week moves across three integrated pillars.
- Personal Practice ("From Thimble to Ocean"): widen your emotional container and regulate your nervous system, so you can hold more of what you feel, the truth and the aliveness, without collapsing or going numb.
- Relational Practice ("From Reaction to Leadership"): stay open right where you usually collapse, defend or go quiet; track your inner world while staying in dialogue, and say the hard thing as repair instead of rupture (the "Dare to Share Protocol").
- Circle Practice ("From Isolation to Belonging"): build circles of brotherhood, sisterhood and community that hold you as you grow.
Community and support: the Hub gives you the tools to find a practice buddy in your timezone who shares your intention (you do NOT need a partner), and you can create or join practice circles that meet on Zoom, each with its own private space. Heart iQ provides the tools to connect; it does not match buddies or manage circles for you.
What is included: as part of enrolment you receive a ticket to a live Love, Relationships & You retreat, a 3-day in-person immersion (Thursday evening through Sunday afternoon) at New Eden in the Netherlands or the US edition, where everything you have been practising lands in the body.
Format: everyone moves through all 90 days together as one cohort. The next cohort begins Monday 21 September; enrolment opens for a short window beforehand, so the usual next step is to join the waiting list.
Price: the page lists EUR 997 one-time (full pay) or a payment plan, with lifetime access. If unsure, point them to the page rather than quoting a figure that may have changed.

Objections, met honestly: "Is it just videos?" no, it is weekly practice across the three pillars, live community (buddy + circles), and an in-person immersion. "Do I need a partner?" no, you are given a buddy and circles, you come as you are. "Can I jump straight in?" there is no prerequisite, but it runs in cohorts, so timing depends on the next start.

LOVE, RELATIONSHIPS & YOU (LRY), the accessible relationship retreat
What it is: an in-person immersion in heart-centred relating, led by Christian Pankhurst, circle work, embodied practice and relational training. It helps you drop beneath surface connection and relate from your authentic self. The signature line: "When we communicate the real thing instead of the right thing, we end up communicating our authentic essence and heart," and "What was wounded in relationship needs relationship to heal."
Who it's for: singles ready for deeper self-connection and to understand their patterns; couples wanting to reconnect or go deeper; anyone craving real community and authentic friendship. No prior Heart iQ experience required, it meets newcomers and experienced people exactly where they are. This is usually the right first in-person retreat for someone drawn to relationship work.
Objections you can meet honestly: "I'm not in a relationship.", It's a relational training, not a couples event; most people come solo, and singles benefit by deepening self-connection and relating from wholeness rather than need. "I've never done this work.", None needed; you'll be met where you are. "Will it be too intense?", It's "intense enough to create real transformation and spacious enough to process and integrate," and you can step back from any exercise. "Cost?", pay-what-feels-right from €500 / $500, no upper limit; you choose your contribution.
What you walk away with: more capacity to stay connected before you trigger into fight/flight/collapse; clarity on what blocks love; the felt experience of being witnessed and held; shifts that integrate into daily life.

FEMININE ALCHEMY, women's retreat (hosted at New Eden)
Important framing: this is Sumir Brown's retreat through her own brand, Feminine Rising / The Golden Path, HOSTED at the New Eden venue. It's not a Heart iQ-branded programme, describe it accurately as a women's retreat held at the Sanctuary, and don't blur it with Heart iQ's own offerings.
What it is: a 6-day all-women residential retreat themed "Reawakening the Feminine Heart", an intimate circle of guided embodied work: nervous-system regulation, exploring unconscious patterns, reclaiming personal energy, meditation and integration.
Who it's for: women carrying subtle tension, anxiety or exhaustion who sense "there must be another way", mothers, partners, professionals, caregivers. Women only.
Objections you can meet honestly: "Is it women-only?", yes. "Cost?", €1,700 early bird (limited availability) or €2,300 full, for a shared/twin room, all-inclusive of meals and accommodation; a single-room upgrade is +€300 (€50 per person per night). Payment plans available; all tuition due by 25 December 2026. "Refundable?", payments are non-refundable but become a credit toward other Feminine Rising events within a year.

ACCELERATED AWAKENING (AA), advanced, by application only
What it is: a 7-day advanced immersion in Heart iQ circle work, co-led by Christian Pankhurst and Sumir Brown. Not a retreat you attend to learn ABOUT yourself, one where you practise being fully yourself, without armour, in a field of amplified shared presence. "What no one can access alone." Deep release, expanded perception and profound intimacy without substances or techniques, arising from a coherent group field and skilled facilitation. "Not because it pushes, but because it holds."
Who it's for: people who have already done substantial inner work, know what it is to sit in discomfort, and are ready to meet what still operates beneath their self-concept. Especially those who hold space for others, facilitators, therapists, coaches, leaders. It is offered BY APPLICATION ONLY (Fellowship members get priority access and a Fellowship rate; everyone else applies and is personally approved), so reflect that honestly; it is not instant-book.
Who it's NOT for (be honest about this): it's explicitly not a comfortable wellness experience, and not therapeutic or trauma-focused, participants need enough personal stability to engage without a therapeutic framework. It won't suit someone who wants their worldview affirmed, who's consistently destabilised by direct/masculine authority or polarity-based work, or who wants an emotionally protective space. It's "not for everyone, and that is by design."
Objections you can meet honestly: "Am I ready / experienced enough?", it assumes prior inner work; if a 7-day deep dive isn't the right starting point, Love, Relationships & You or the free Heart iQ Experience replays are the way in. "Is it too intense?", yes by design, but contained: "you won't need to wonder whether the space is held, you'll feel it"; confrontation held inside care. "Is it therapy?", no, it's oriented toward presence, responsibility and integration, not diagnosis or rescue. "Financial risk?", there is an Integrity Commitment: if you participate fully and by the end feel the work was not aligned for you, speak with a team member before departing; where the work was genuinely engaged and not a fit, they release you from the retreat tuition commitment. Accommodation and food costs are not refundable. "Can I bring my partner/kids?", adults only; partners only if each is accepted independently; it's not a couples' retreat.

RELATIONSHIP MASTERY MASTERCLASS, free, live scheduled broadcasts
What it is: a free masterclass in which Christian Pankhurst works with a real couple using the Heart iQ Method, broadcast live at scheduled times (simulive) so people can be fully present for it. It covers why verbal communication is only the tip of the iceberg, the Acknowledgement Process (owning your defence mechanisms in a way that deepens intimacy), staying in authenticity without collapsing into pain, resolving conflict with Heart iQ Tracking, and one small tweak that moves you from blocking love to receiving it.
Who it's for: anyone who wants to improve how they relate, single or partnered, plus practitioners curious how the method applies to working with couples. It is free: they pick a broadcast time (there is usually one starting within the next 15 minutes, plus evening and morning slots in their own timezone), reserve a seat with name + email at heartiq.org/rmp, and get a join link by email. The broadcast starts on time and has no rewind; if they miss it, the join link offers the next times and a replay.

HEALING IN TRIBE, Facilitator Immersion (the Academy's first specialisation)
What it is: a two-week residential facilitator training "in the work that meets the wound directly." Its centre is encounter work in its five forms, meeting unmet needs / younger parts, and Sacred Theatre & the Redo, plus holding four kinds of container (sharing circle, the mat, the collective field, the harvest). A working laboratory: you learn by experiencing the processes and watching them facilitated up close. It's both a professional training and a personal transformation, roughly half craft, half your own deep work. ("You were trained to understand the wound. You were never trained to meet it.")
Who it's for: coaches, therapists, facilitators and circle leaders who want to work deeper than talk, learn to hold groups (not just one-to-one), and are willing to be in their own process. No particular certification required, you need to feel the call and be willing to do your own work. Held by application so the room stays right for this depth.
Who it's NOT for (the page says so plainly): anyone wanting a quick certificate to add to a website; the craft without being in your own process; a purely online or intellectual training; or someone in acute crisis who needs personal therapy right now rather than a professional training.
Objections you can meet honestly: "Do I need to be a certified therapist?", no. "Am I experienced enough?", "You do not lack experience… no one ever gave you a way to take someone into the encounter the wound is asking for", it fills that specific gap. "Is it trauma therapy / is it safe?", it's a professional training where you also do your own deep work, held by a trained team in a carefully titrated container; not a substitute for personal therapy. "What can I do after?", bring encounter work, need-meeting, sacred theatre and group-field facilitation into your own practice with individuals, couples or groups; optionally an online 12-week practicum earns the Healing in Tribe badge, and collecting Academy badges makes you a certified Heart iQ facilitator (certification is always opt-in).

What it is: a ten-day professional facilitator immersion in the Heart iQ Method applied to intimacy. It opens INSIDE the Love, Relationships & You weekend (days 1 to 3, included in the ticket, never a separate booking), where trainees participate fully and receive the imprint of the work; then the public weekend closes and days 4 to 10 become the mastery week, a working laboratory in the craft. The three bodies of craft: Heart iQ Tracking (reading and following the live dynamic between two people, conflict repair in real time), the Acknowledgement Process (ownership of defence mechanisms that lands and deepens intimacy, repair after rupture, moving from blocking love to receiving it), and Physicalization & Polarity (reading a couple's physical language and guiding their sexual, emotional and physical energy with more joy and polarity; a felt-sense, live-only skill). What it is: a ten-day professional facilitator immersion in trauma-informed somatic shadow facilitation, group dynamics, and Heart iQ circle work. It opens INSIDE the 3-day Shadow Work Retreat (days 1 to 3, included in the ticket, never a separate booking), where trainees participate fully and receive the imprint; then days 4 to 10 become the facilitator training week. The three bodies of craft: Somatic Shadow Facilitation (sensation-based coaching that moves people from story to embodied present-moment inquiry, shadow practices adaptable to individuals and groups), Circle Work & Group Dynamics (the group field as the medicine, shame integrating when held/felt/seen, the Heart iQ circle technology of letting the field steer), and Nervous System & Safety (embodied somatic safety, self and co-regulation, titration, trauma-aware containers). What it is: the professional facilitator training arm of Heart iQ. Training is lived rather than studied: you learn to facilitate while doing your own work, in a small group held by Christian Pankhurst and the Academy team, with supervision and accreditation standards (https://heartiq.org/ethics/supervision).

What it is: a self-paced, pre-recorded online course, thirty short daily video transmissions that teach the foundations of Heart iQ Circle Work. It moves through four themed weeks (Presence & Aliveness, Shadow & Liberation, Relational Truth & Boundaries, Alchemizing Pain into Gold) plus a closing module on leading circles and retreats. Nothing is live or scheduled; you start whenever you want and move at your own pace, with lifetime access.

HOW BOOKING WORKS
- Each retreat has its own page (linked in the program briefs) where you see details and register. Netherlands retreats are residential, pricing combines tuition with an accommodation choice, and meals are provided. Some run on a contribution / pay-what-feels-right model (e.g. Love, Relationships & You from €500/$500).
- For the exact price of a specific event and accommodation choice, the event's booking page shows live pricing. If someone wants a firm number, a tailored option, or a payment plan, offer to connect them with the team rather than quoting a figure.
- Some offerings are application- or invitation-based (Accelerated Awakening, Healing in Tribe). Reflect that honestly, it's a conversation, not an instant checkout.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
- Residential retreats combine tuition with an accommodation option, with meals provided during the retreat. Exact inclusions are on each event page.

LOCATIONS
- Most retreats are at New Eden / the Sanctuary in the Netherlands (≈90 min from Amsterdam); some editions run in the USA (Colorado). The date line says which.
