The Magic of Heart iQ

A Heart iQ circle is a shared practice of presence and expression. I use the term heart field for the felt group experience that can emerge as people become more available to one another.

I believe there is a human capacity for connection that becomes available when people gather with real attention. In this recording, I speak about that belief and the experiences in circle that have shaped it.

A shared quality of attention

I think every one of us carries the capacity to tap into a field like this. It isn't the vague infinite field of possibility that gets talked about in a lot of New Age writing. It's much more localised than that. When a small group, somewhere between fifteen and twenty five people, comes together and is properly facilitated into their hearts, something forms between them. That field itself becomes heart intelligent, and being in it changes what becomes available to a person.

In my experience, people in that field often report feeling clearer. They feel more powerful, more radiant. Things they hadn't been able to think through suddenly become obvious. That's not a promise I can make on anyone's behalf, it's what I've seen happen again and again when a group settles into that shared space.

Learning through experience

The words field and resonance can remain abstract until a person has had an experience they connect with. I use them to describe something I have felt in groups over many years. Another person may understand that experience differently, and there is no particular state anyone has to reach.

What draws me to this work is the sense of mystery alongside very ordinary human contact. A group can make room for someone to feel, speak and be received. I keep returning to that possibility and to the care required to make it available.

How a Heart iQ Circle Builds Its Field

  1. People arrive with different experiences and needs.
  2. A small group of around fifteen to twenty five gathers together
  3. Facilitation guides the group's attention into the heart
  4. Christian describes a felt quality of shared presence as a heart-intelligent field.
  5. Participants report increased clarity, power, radiance and insight while inside that field
Christian’s description of group experience, rather than a guaranteed progression.
